In the Sustainable Communities Initiative, all levels of relationships and partnerships are valued. We strive to deepen relationships with all of our partners, working towards joint planning, action and accountability as we work together to achieve our vision. We think of collaborative relationships in the framework of a "Universe"; at the centre of which, people and organizations are able to be truly innovative and this is where deep transformation occurs. There is a high degree of accountability to each other. Partners practice joint decision-making, and actively learn from each other.
Over time, our structures have adjusted and adapted to allow for deeper collaboration between our partners. An example is the evolution of our regular meetings, which started with only company representatives, and have since developed into a monthly partnership meeting, where all partners are encouraged to actively engage, bringing their strengths and perspectives to the table.
